Another thought would be to strengthen labs. Remove any reason not to use labs. And maybe even require new projects exist in labs for a short time before becoming a project
While this may not be a formal requirement, that is in fact what we're doing. I had a phone call yesterday with a company that is very eager to contribute some tools to manage Fabric. I proposed a set of steps:
- Fix DCO and license issues internally
- Open source on github
- Approach the TSC and lab stewards to discuss the project with the code already in the open
- Move to labs
- See about integrating with Fabric more broadly, either in Cello or Fabric itself
