Edmund To <edmund.to@...>
Dear all, Hope you are well. This is Edmund and as mentioned in the last call, I will be leading an update on recent development in the space of trade finance and blockchain in the call tomorrow. I have picked the five news articles which I think that would be good to go through together.
I understood this is a Hyperledger focused working group, but I think that would be good to include news related other platform such as Corda and Ethereum / Quorum, so we can be as objective as we can and be informed on what’s happening in the industry. We have attached the reference below and we plan this session to be more interactive than a presentation and we can all have some thought in how to take this further. Hope to see you in the call tomorrow. Cheers, Edmund Reference: Standard Chartered Bank making the first trade finance on the blockchain with Hyperledger Fabric WeTrade now has over 400 companies and 14 banks on board. Geneva-based Komgo, the global blockchain-based trade financing platform backed by 15 of the world’s largest banking and commodity companies, processed its first live Letter of Credit, just three months after the launch announcement. (Based on Ethereum / Quorum) https://www.ledgerinsights.com/komgo-commodities-trade-finance-blockchain/ Japan’s second-largest bank by assets, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), has completed a proof-of-concept (PoC) using blockchain consortium R3’s Marco Polo trade finance platform. MonetaGo, a software development company that builds private blockchains for financial institutions and central banks, has decided to change its underlying architecture from Hyperledger Fabric to R3’s Corda platform. https://www.coindesk.com/blockchain-for-banks-startup-switches-from-hyperledger-to-r3s-corda On Mon, 4 Mar 2019 at 05:49, Lovell, William <william.lovell@...> wrote:
