[Hyperledger Project TSC] 答复: May I disable github.com/hyperledger wikis?

Huruifeng(Victor)

A poblem is I can't open wiki.hyperledger.org now(It worked before). It keeps loading but nothing got displayed. At the meantime github.com/hyperledger/hyperledger/wiki works fine.

I don't know whether its caused by my connection problem or something goes wrong in the server. But it reminds me maybe we don't have to close wiki in github entirely. Is there a way it can act like a mirror of wiki.hyperledger.org just as the repo does?

I’ve migrated the 55 wiki pages that remained under requirements, use cases and identity. The old wiki pages now point to the new pages. I’m not aware any others that need to be migrated.

Yes. This is what I'm working on.

I already put a big warning at the top of the page and started going through the list of pages and replacing their content with a link to the new page, as in:
https://github.com/hyperledger/hyperledger/wiki/PublicMeetingCalendar

Once I'm done with the lower pages I'll reduce the content of the top page to just a link as well and we can then make the wiki read-only for good.

Georg Link’s migrated some pages and provided a few regexs to ease some conversion steps. That was quite helpful.

Earlier, I shared a inventory spreadsheet of pages to be migrated. I have migrated some myself, but I am certain not all are done. I’ll double-check on what’s left and revert.

WRT the attached email from Arnaud, may I disable the github wikis? In particular:

https://github.com/hyperledger/hyperledger/wiki

https://github.com/hyperledger/fabric-chaintool/wiki

I'm not speaking of Sawtooth Lake and Iroha projects in general.

For instance, the current situation with github wiki and wiki hyperledger means there is a lot of duplicated info and it's not clear to the reader which is the most up-to-date. I think we need to put an end to this and retire github wiki.

Hi,
It works fine for me so this might be a local problem and hopefully temporary.
I'd be happy to be told otherwise but I'm guessing we won't be able to mirror the new wiki on github wiki because they are very different systems using different formats.

Let's try and get to the bottom of it.  Victor, can you share more details about your setup, privately back to me and Ry Jones (ry@...)?  Specifically, the browser & OS you're using, what specific URLs you are attempting to access, where you are accessing from (which country or publicly routable IP address, for instance) and what happens when you try multiple different URLs there, not just http://wiki.hyperledger.org/.  For example, click through github.com/hyperledger/hyperledger/wiki and go through to the wiki.hyperledger.org pages linked to there.  I suspect there may be an HTML rendering issue somewhere between how the Wiki thinks the world should work and the browser thinks things should work, so let's see if we can debug.

If anyone else is having issues let Ry and I know.

Brian
