DCI Working Group: Inclusive Naming Proposal
Arnaud Le Hors
Hi all,
I was doing some house keeping on our wiki when I realized that this proposal wasn't showing up in the backlog which led me to forget about it. I fixed the issue so that it does now show up in the backlog and I'd like us to close it if possible. https://wiki.hyperledger.org/display/TSC/DCI+Working+Group%3A+Inclusive+Naming+Proposal Does anyone have any concerns with the proposal? If anyone needs to discuss it I suggest we hold the call on Thursday and do that. Otherwise I'd be happy to approve it via email. Thanks. -- Arnaud Le Hors - Senior Technical Staff Member - Open Technologies: Blockchain, Edge Computing, Web - IBM |

Arnaud,
If I remember the conversation correctly, people were in favor of the proposals, but we did not discuss how we would implement and ensure that this continues on a go forward basis.

Hart Montgomery <hmontgomery@...>
Hi Arnaud,
Thanks for catching this! I think almost everyone will agree with the recommendations--the DCI working group did a very nice job of putting them together.
Is the proposal simply that the TSC "recommends" these practices? Or do we want to flesh out something a little bit more concrete in terms of action items (e.g. the quarterly report should have a question "are you following best language practices" or something
like that)?
Thanks,
Hart

Ok, I'll admit that
I thought we would simply approve this as is but I agree that it would
make sense to think about practical ways to ensure these recommendations
are implemented. Someone is going to have to put a proposal together for
that. Do we have a volunteer?

I was ready to hold a call tomorrow to discuss this but at this point I'm not sure that'd be very productive, we probably need to put a proposal together first. Maybe we need to punt this to the next TSC... :-/ -- Arnaud Le Hors - Senior Technical Staff Member - Open Technologies: Blockchain, Edge Computing, Web - IBM From: "Hart Montgomery" <hmontgomery@...> To: "Arnaud Le Hors" <lehors@...>, "hyperledger-tsc" <hyperledger-tsc@...> Date: 10/12/2021 06:26 PM Subject: [EXTERNAL] Re: [Hyperledger TSC] DCI Working Group: Inclusive Naming Proposal Sent by: tsc@... Hi Arnaud, On the call where we discussed this proposal, I volunteered to work with the DCI Working Group and come up with a proposal regarding how we implement it. This work unfortunately won't be ready for tomorrow's TSC meeting, but should have it in the coming weeks to share with the new TSC. Very good. Thanks
for reminding me. Now I don't have to feel too bad about having dropped
the ball. ;-)

That's ok. Let's have the next TSC pick this up when you're ready.
