[Hyperledger Project TSC] Meet Sawtooth Lake
Middleton, Dan <dan.middleton@...>
I’ve written an informal piece, “Meet Sawtooth Lake,” discussing our design goals.

I briefly introduce Consortium Ledgers to motivate scalable consensus (PoET) and safe but powerful smart contracts (Transaction Families).
Following POCs across dozens of globally distributed validators, we have some new design elements coming to further address broad scale production deployments. I alluded to these but plan to describe them more fully in the coming weeks - perhaps verbally at one of our TSC sessions.
Regards,
Dan Middleton

Thanks, Dan! This was a great intro to Sawtooth Lake for me, I was not yet familiar with it, though I had heard of it. As I sometimes have to remind folks, my interest in blockchain are definitely outside of currency side of things. From an infrastructure perspective, I am interested in whether or not we can actually standardize on some security elements such as how we handle user vs device identity, auditing, etc. And when I look at blockchain, it looks quite promising for that. And now that I've been introduced to Sawtooth Lake, I see some synergy with work I'm doing in the NFV and other spaces.
