I wanted to share with you two sessions coming up at our Hyperledger Global Forum that may be interesting to this group and you can see the discussion that the Public Sector WG is having on potential questions below: 2. Group input - Questions for Panelists at Hyperledger Global Forum We have two Public Sector themed panels presenting at the Global Forum in Basel this December. Let's develop a list of possible questions for discussion, so that we can be sure that the presentations reflect the knowledge and interests of our group. (This and #3 were on last call's agenda, but we went right up to time with the presentation, so have forwarded these agenda points.) Hyperledger and the Global South Countries around the world struggle with canker of patronage political culture, political party supporters are rewarded with contracts to build roads, schools, hospitals. In the vein of recouping 'expenses', these contractors cut costs. The result is a case of poorly constructed roads, inadequate facilities and the consequent deaths in hospitals, dysfunctional school systems and numerous road accidents. Global South is really pioneering in extended use of enterprise grade blockchain solutions in governmental processes to promote transparency and accountability. From integration of Brazilian banks to maximize identification of banknote exchange opportunities, to coffee trading in Africa there is no limit to Blockchain innovation. Metropolis as the World Association of Large Metropolis has 138 member metropolitan regions around 5 continents. Out of them 69 are already using the technology in 255 projects! Lets discuss how Global South utilizes Blockchain, strategic guidelines for the development of DLT applications to solve particular urban issues of citizenship and democracy, land and real estate markets, infrastructure and public services, exchanges of total values -financial and non financial-, governance and finance Panel: Citizens and Blockchain Blockchain brings an opportunity for improvement of efficiency, industry creation and allows the innovators to become global leaders in the space. We have one here at Zeva that we developed for Save the Children US, but it is still in development phase. We are delivery a pilot by the end of this year. Does that work with you?
I still have to ask the customer (Save) if they are okay with sharing the information.

Final Decision on WGs Governing Structure and Naming - Social Impact
Hi All, The Hyperledger team has informed us that, effective immediately, all Hyperledger Sector Working Groups (WGs), have been renamed to Sector Special Interest Groups (SIGs.) Also, all SIGs will now fall under the Hyperledger Governing Board and Hyperledger staff instead of the Hyperledger Technical Steering Committee (TSC). So going forward the Social Impact Working Group will be named the Social Impact Special Interest Group. Some of you may have followed via the TSC the discussions about the change in the governance structure of the working groups, at the same time the recommendation to rename them to Special Interest Groups (SIGs) was made to be consistent with the terminology that is common in other consortia and to also differentiate them from the more technical-focused working groups at Hyperledger that report into the TSC. SIGs tend to be business-focused and pull in practitioners from a given domain to share and discuss what they are building, whereas a WG is technical focused and not tied to a specific sector. The anticipation is that the work products of the SIGs will continue to be diverse based on each SIG's focus and will continue to be driven by the members of the SIGs and their work products can also lead to new Hyperledger Labs or projects as proposed by the needs of the SIGs. Each SIG will have an assigned Hyperledger Staff member who will work closely with the SIG Chair, and we are thrilled that the brilliant Karen Ottoni will be the point of contact for the Social Impact SIG. May I ask who or what the background for the inquiry? I was thinking that our group should compile that list of demonstrated blockchain projects... done both by our respective orgs, but also a review of all other/external blockchain projects done by others. Ideally our first collaborative project, if it hasnt started already. WV has two blockchain projects underway w results. Sikka based in Nepal and Kartuan Bele based in Timor Leste. Btw, if anyone is going to the Blockchain Humanitarian Summit in NY later this week, our Sikka lead will be available to share more in person. And if anyone is going to the Hyperledger GF in Basel next week, our Kartuan Bele lead will be there and available to share more in person. Just let me know and I can connect.
