PoET for v1.0.5

Kent Lau

Hello,

I am preparing for the CHSA exam, based on v1.0.5/ubuntu1604, and would like some help figuring out how to run PoET.

I then tried to run a simulated enclave, but realised that the repo did not have a v1.0.x poet-engine.  The nightly version was 1.1.x and threw an error.

Changing consensus mode is part of the exam syllabus but I cannot find a way to practise this topic.

Any suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I’m on limited bandwidth right now, so hard for me to check but here’s two things to try…

  1. Assume the URL changed but the icls client for that version is still downloadable.. i.e. fish around for a different URL. (Note that you only need that if you are running SGX proper)
  2. For the simulator make sure you are using docs that line up with the right versions. If you are working on 1.0.5 make sure you are using 1.0.5 docs and packages. (It’s possible there’s still a problem but that version alignment would be the first thing I’d check).

Regards,

Dan
