Re: 2019 H1 status report
Hart Montgomery
Hi Ry,
Are you counting the crypto-lib and zmix labs in those numbers? Those can be safely archived since they have been incorporated into Ursa.
Thanks, Hart

Re: Proposal: Require two factor auth for Hyperledger Labs on github in a week
Sure. I created a group of non-2fa users in labs and sent a message to the group. Many of them are people that have not used labs or even github at all this year.

With the July 4th holiday and my assumption of minimal support on the 4th and 5th, would it make sense to delay a week ? -mark

Re: [Hyperledger TSC] Proposal: Require two factor auth for Hyperledger Labs on github in a week
I've asked in chat, and I'm asking on the mailing list. I haven't run an activity audit on the labs repos (yet). My next proposal to labs is to archive some of the labs that seem to have run the course. We have a distinct org for that: Ry

Have we reached out to get people to add 2FA? You can @ the repo members.

Proposal: Require two factor auth for Hyperledger Labs on github in a week
All, I propose turning on the two factor auth requirement for the Hyperledger Labs organization on 03 JULY 2019. What I learned from enabling the requirement on the main Hyperledger org is that when a person is re-invited, it is very easy to return the previous permissions and settings to the user. In fact, it is the default. Thoughts?

Re: Tracking issues in Labs
Shawn Amundson
I asked this recently and the answer was that you can request a JIRA project. I think maybe a wiki space as well if you want one. (I assume you do these requests through helpdesk@....) Github Issues is discouraged/not allowed for projects without mitigating some security concerns -- I assume this would extend to labs. -Shawn

CTA: Enable two factor auth on GitHub
Hi all, The Hyperledger GitHub orgs (Hyperledger, Hyperledger Labs) will have two factor auth enabled in the very near future. Doing so will remove people without 2FA from the orgs. Please enable two factor auth for your GitHub account[0] to prevent being removed. Ry

Deadline Friday, February 22: Call for 2019 Hyperleger Internship Projects and Mentors
Min Yu <myu@...>
Dear Hyperledger Community Members, Hyperledger is expanding the internship program to fund 15 internship projects this year. The internship program is aimed at creating a structured hands-on learning opportunity for new developers who may otherwise lack the opportunity to gain exposure to Hyperledger open source development and entry into the technical community. Additional program information, including the program timeline, is available on the wiki. This is a great contribution opportunity for community members like you to get involved. Whether you're looking for fresh ideas or perspectives, or mentoring opportunities, or additional contributors for your project, the internship program provides a pathway for you to work with aspiring student developers. Please submit a project proposal and volunteer yourself as a mentor; the deadline for submission is this Friday, February 22nd. Thank you, Min ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Min Yu <myu@...> Date: Mon, Feb 11, 2019 at 9:54 AM Subject: Get Involved! Become a Mentor for an Intern >> Call for 2019 Hyperleger Internship Projects and Mentors To: <hyperledger-discuss@...>, <hyperledger-tsc@...>, <ambassadors@...>, <universities@...> Hyperledger Technical Community - Read below testimonials from former mentors. We encourage you to get involved and become a mentor for an intern this year. The deadline to submit a project proposal is Friday next week, February 22nd. "The internship program was a great experience for my co-mentor and me. We found an intern who showed a ton of potential and was eager to learn and looking for a good first step into the real world. Though the time differences and our conflicting schedules presented us with some challenges, the end result really made everything worth it. Our intern was successful in completing her project, we got a new feature added to the fabric chaincode evm, and our intern left with skills that could help her throughout her career. The internship is a great way to bring some fresh eyes into our community but also an opportunity for those already in it to find ways to make it better." - Swetha Repakula, IBM, 2018 Mentor "As a mentor, I find it's a wonderful experience to help the intern students to get involved into the open source projects, where they show lots of passions and self-motivations. University are the birthplace of open source, and it's always a great honor to help these fledging blockchain researchers&engineers." - Baohua Yang, Oracle, 2017 and 2018 Mentor

I will have opinions about these but will most likely not make it as I’m out of the country and attending to other matters. Please let me know the outcome and consider my current PRs and other messages I’ve sent to this list

This is just a reminder of our biweekly meeting tomorrow, now for Ursa (we can use the name!).
I’d like to spend most of the meeting discussing repo layout, setup, and structure, as well as the build processes, so if you have strong opinions about this, please formalize them and come prepared to talk! Ideally we would be in a position to move everything over from the labs and get it all set up after tomorrow’s meeting.
Thanks, and I hope to talk to many of you tomorrow!
Thanks, Hart
P.S. As a reminder, if you are on the labs list and wish to continue to receive crypto-lib/Ursa updates, please subscribe to the ursa list. We will stop sending updates to the labs list soon!

Hi Everyone,
Just an update on the crypto-lib. We will be naming the project “Hyperledger Ursa,” which should come as no surprise to those who have been following the project. This will bring about a couple of changes of which you might want to be aware:
1. The rocketchat channel will be renamed to “ursa” (from “crypto-lib”). 2. In the near future, we will have a new project list ursa@... which isn’t active yet (I think), but hopefully will be very soon!
If you’d like to continue following the crypto-lib stuff, please subscribe to the list when it is available and make a note of the new channel.
Thanks, Hart
