Good Day HC-SIG Team,

I'm very happy to announce that we have a winner in our election for Hyperledger HC-SIG Chair, reviewed and approved by Hyperledger leadership.

Congratulations and welcome to Mike McCoy!

Mike will do a great job in carrying forward much of the momentum and enthusiasm that's made this global HC-SIG membership such a great organization.

I'll be working with Mike over the next week as we transition leadership.

Please take a moment and congratulate Mike (cc'd in this email).

Thanks to all who participated in this election, and best wishes to Mike going forward!

Good Day HC-SIG Team,

As many of you are now aware, after serving in the role of chair for this Hyperledger Healthcare SIG (HC-SIG) since 2018, I've determined that it's time to hand over this role to a successor. It's certainly been an amazing two years, with tremendous interest and growth occurring with the many unique and creative implementations of blockchain technologies in the healthcare industry, particularly as we're still in many ways, contending with the COVID-19 virus pandemic.

We are very lucky to have two HC-SIG members step forward to be considered the next HC-SIG Chair. Their candidate statements are below:

Mike McCoy, Director, Platform Integration & Technical Partnerships, ConsenSys Health
I would like to be considered as a nominee to the Hyperledger Healthcare SIG Chair position to help continue the working group moving forward. I have been lucky the past couple of years to work and build solutions professionally with my employers at Accenture and ConsenSys Health, along with creating the first US-based "Blockchain for Health Care" curriculum at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. I believe that a combination of thought leadership, standards experts, software developers, hardware experts and key business stakeholders from all levels of experience in the technology are key to help drive much needed adoption in industry.
My goal will be to bring talented speakers, advance actionable working groups, hold design working sessions with industry, continue educational content and help grow membership past the impressive pipeline Rich has created. Including input from the vast working group of what we could do better as a SIG moving forward.
Raveesh Dewan, Chief Executive Officer at Joget, Inc.
I have been working as chair for the Hyperledger Healthcare SIG Payer Subgroup and the journey and engagement has been great so far. We are at a point where there are clear deliverables that the group has started working on and some exciting things are happening now. Considering where we stand after much thinking, I have decided to bring my nomination forward to be considered for the Hyperledger Healthcare SIG chair position.
My goal in simple terms will be to maintain and grow the standard along with the support and engagement with the group that Rich created with the Healthcare SIG. I look forward to creating a deeper integration with the industry and practitioners so we all can see some of the ideas to execution in the real world.

To vote:
  • Voting begins today, Monday, JUL 27 at 0700 Pacific time, and will continue through Friday, JUL 31 at 0700 Pacific
  • The link to the election ballot is here: (Google Forms)
  • Only one vote per HC-SIG member is permitted (your email address will be required as part of the balloting process, but will not be shared)
  • For your vote to count, you must be a registered HC-SIG member prior to the start of this election (if you are receiving this email, you are a registered HC-SIG member)

Voting results will be reviewed by Hyperledger leadership during and after the voting period. A final announcement will be made soon thereafter the close of the voting period (ideally, the following Monday, 08/03).

Thanks again for the opportunity to be a part of such a great and globally influential open-source/open-community organization that has helped to develop this industry.

And best of luck to the candidates!
