Adding new channels to an existing network
indirajith
Dear Fabric Community, Is there any material available on how to add a new channel to an already running fabric network where one needs to add a new channel profile. Any pointers would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. Best regards, Indirajith.

If you are using 2.3+, you can try the new osnadmin tool: https://hlf.readthedocs.io/en/latest/create_channel/create_channel_participation.html. The legacy way using peer channel cmd is at https://hlf.readthedocs.io/en/latest/commands/peerchannel.html.

Thank you very much for your response. I am using the 2.2 version. One last question just to make sure I got it right. So, one has to use the 'jq' tool to include the new channel profile and generate a create channel .tx file using configtxgen, update the config, have I got it right? Thanks again for your help. I have a question related to this topic. When should I create a new channel and when should I create an entire new network? For example, let's say that there is a network with N organizations in one channel. If M other organizations want to create a consortium in a entire different channel should I create a new network or a new channel with this M organization. I will use HLF 2.2
