Hyperledger without docker

Лунев Иван Сергеевич <LunevIS@...>

Hello, I want to use Hyperledger Fabric without docker,  is it possible?

If it’s possible to use HLF without docker, please, give me any information about that.

Best regards, John

yes you can do it  - but I think that it becomes important once you get to chaincode.
For some reason they have locked it down to only running peers in devmode without docker - which depending on what you want to do could be fine

I have a single peer, single orderer and chaincode running outside of docker just from a linux shell

Before trying to move forwards be sure that this is how you want to do things :)

cheers

I believe having docker is a pre-requisite of hyper ledger fabric  setup.. I could not do it on my 10 yr old mac which lacks hw support for containerisation.

thanks

Look into system chaincode, which you don't need docker container. System chaincode runs within the peer process and pluggable (Go plugin). There's instruction to bring up peer and orderer without docker. https://gerrit.hyperledger.org/r/#/c/14827/2/examples/chaincode/java/CarAssetManager/README.txt
