Jay, on mac, there is this experimental feature called gRPC FUSE which has been causing issues for Fabric. If you disable that feature, things may do well. You probably can try that.

This is interesting.
It can be either a socket leak or afile leak.
You can isolate your process id (PID)and then invoke lsof -p on it to see what files it is holding.
