Dear EASIG Members,

Obviously, we have all been affected by the current COVID-19 pandemic. Even though most of us are now working from home, our work schedule, at least mine, seems to be busier now than before. So, I understand that many of you may not have the time to attend the EASIG meetings as they have been scheduled every other week now. Kate from ASU has asked if we can meet less, I and several others in this SIG agree. But as the EASIG Chair, I respect the group members' will to decide how often we should meet.

Please give your answer to the following polling question as I'd like to find the right time and frequency for our meeting ASAP. I'll keep the poll open for a week and will close it by Friday, April 17th 2020. In the meantime, I wish you all a very healthy and happy holiday weekend!

Can we be optimistic and go for a 2/3 combo (every month with a hopeful event in the nearish future)?

I am in favor of the spirit of Taylor’s suggestion. It seems to me that at conferences many of the members are already likely to be attending we should always try to get together. Whether that is just a social gathering/happy hour mixer or something more formal I think likely will be contextually dependent on what’s going on in our EASIG world at the time. 

I’m less supportive of anything formal at ASU/GSV simply because it’s so expensive to attend that it excludes far to many from the broader community. Not that Educause is inexpensive, but it is less. 

My two cents.
