Self-Sovereign Identity for Higher Education webinar on Jan 23

David Boswell

Evernym is hosting two webinars on January 23 at 9 AM and 12 PM eastern about Self-Sovereign Identity for Higher Education.  You can find out more and sign up at:

From their description of the talk, they're going to cover: What would it mean to be able to give students and alum a portable digital identity they can use to prove their qualifications to potential employers and to access digital services more privately and securely?

This seemed like a topic that would be of interest for the EASIG.  If anyone here has a chance to join, could you summarize the key points for the rest of the group and share either here on the list or on the next community call?

And if anyone comes across any other similar webinars or other resources that would be of interest for the group, please feel free to share.

Thanks,
David

This looks really exciting.  I wonder whether the Higher Ed team at Evernym has educators/students on their design team.

Hi David,

Thanks for sharing!

It is always interesting to see how SSI is being implemented. My understanding of SSI is that as a matter of principle users must have an independent existence and they must control their identities, etc.

I support Sovrin Foundation’s mission and am striving to make Pistis.io, a blockchain platform service that I co-founded a true SSI compliant blockchain solution by giving individual learners direct access and full control over their learning credentials independent of any institution.
